CHOOSE THE RIGHT PAN IN 4 STEPS

Are you looking to buy one or more pans? There are four important considerations you should keep in mind.

1. Cooktop type: Consider the type of cooktop on which you'll use the pan. No worries here, as our pans are compatible with halogen, electric, ceramic, and induction cooktops. If you also want to use the pan in the oven or on the barbecue, be sure to check the technical specifications. For using pans on the barbecue, we recommend this article.

2. Type of pan: Depending on the dish or cooking method, a frying pan, skillet pangrill pan - also know as griddle pan - or pancake pan may come in handy. No need for a classic pan but rather a paella pan or saute pan? Beka offers various variants for each type of pan, allowing you to choose the perfect complement to your kitchen equipment. Looking for a pan set? Discover our selection our quality induction pan sets.

3.Pan Size: Consider the diameter of the pan, depending on your family composition. Generally, a frying pan with a diameter of 20 cm is recommended for 2 people, and a large pan of 28 cm for 4 people. Measure the diameter of the pan at the top. Looking for induction pans? Also, consider the "induction diameter" at the bottom of the pan so that your induction pans match perfectly with the cooking zone you want to use.

4. Last but not least: which pan material best suits your needs. This question may require some technical explanation, but we are here to help you at Beka with the information below.

STAINLESS STEEL PAN: DURABILITY AND VERSATILITY

Why choose a stainless steel pan? These frying pans are known for their durability, stability on any cooktop, resistance to various ingredients and cleaning agents, and the absence of odor or taste transfer to food. Our Beka pans often have an aluminum layer between the stainless steel bottom and the interior for improved heat conductivity.

ALUMINUM PAN: LIGHTWEIGHT AND QUICK HEATING

On the other hand, aluminum pans are lighter, heat and cool quickly, and typically have a non-stick coating. Such a non-stick pan is ideal for delicate dishes like eggs and fish, but keep in mind that non-stick pans generally have a shorter lifespan compared to stainless steel variants.

NONSTICK PAN: CHOOSE BETWEEN PTFE AND CERAMIC

Non stick frying pans are finished with a coating. Regarding nonstick coatings, classic PTFE (Teflon) offers excellent nonstick properties. On the other hand, ceramic coatings make pans PFAS-free, making them more environmentally friendly and also known as healthy pans. The choice between of a non stick pan with PTFE or ceramic depends on personal preferences and culinary needs.

WHEN A NON-STICK PAN IS IDEAL

When preparing red meat or poultry, a stainless steel pan without a nonstick coating is ideal. For delicate dishes like breaded ingredients, fish, eggs, and vegetables, we recommend a non-stick pan. Always use a bit of oil or butter with these healthy pans, avoid high temperatures, and do not use metal kitchen utensils, even in a non-stick pan.

EXPLORE BEYOND THE CLASSICS: ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS AND MAINTENANCE

Passionate home chef? Continue the search for the best pans for your preparations. In addition to a classic frying pan, consider alternative pans such as the carbon steel pan series Nomad, which develops a natural non-stick coating with regular use and maintenance. With the Stark cast iron pan or the award-winning Artist pre-seasoned carbon steel pan, you go a bit further in the kitchen. Whatever your choice, Beka offers a wide range of quality pans to meet all your needs.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT PAN

After understanding the properties of stainless steel and aluminum, and determining your preference for non-stick coatings, Beka offers an extensive selection of cooking pans.
