PFAS-free cooking

PFAS-free cooking

The non-stick coating on this product contains no intentionally added PFAS. Thanks to its ceramic coating, you can cook with ease and peace of mind.

  • Blue carbon steel is an excellent heat conductor meaning it heats up in no time and distributes the warmth optimally.
  • This material is suitable for high temperatures, making it the ultimate choice for stir-frying.
  • Easy to wok, ready to use. This blue carbon steel wok is pre-seasoned with a natural layer of patina, resulting in a ready to use slippery non-stick surface.
  • The pre-seasoning process consists of sealing natural oils at intense heat, which created a strong natural non-stick patina layer, free from chemicals like PFOA and PFOS.
  • Initially cook with enough fat to create a natural non-stick coating. More fat use leads to faster formation of patina. For an even longer lasting optimal wok experience, we recommend repeating the seasoning process during use. This will create an even stronger and durable natural layer of patina.
  • Avoid cooking acidic ingredients such as tomatoes, as these can damage the patina. After many uses and when a thick patina has formed on the pan, you can certainly occasionally fry with acidic ingredients and tomatoes.
  • Suitable for all hobs, including induction. This flat bottom wok sits securely on any stovetop.

How to use my carbon steel pan properly

Heat the pan gradually over low to medium heat to prevent warping β€” it only takes a moment, as carbon steel heats up very quickly.
Once it reaches temperature, you can easily cook on high heat or sear meat.

During the first few uses, always add a bit of fat or oil β€” it nourishes the patina and prevents food from sticking.

Avoid cooking acidic ingredients such as tomatoes, wine, or lemon, as these can damage the natural protective layer.

What is seasoning and why is it so important?

Before the first use, your carbon steel pan needs to be seasoned.

By heating it with a thin layer of oil, a natural protective coating gradually forms β€” this is called the patina.

This layer prevents rust, improves the pan’s non-stick performance, and enhances the flavor of your dishes.

It’s a natural and healthy alternative to traditional non-stick coatings: the more you cook, the better your pan performs.
