Fried rice with vegetables and a fried egg

Sometimes, simple is exactly what you need. Fried rice is the perfect example of a quick, flavour-packed meal: use what you have at home, toss everything into one pan, and let the ingredients do their thing. The result? Comfort food with a fresh twist.

Preparation – step by step recipe

  1. Cook the rice and let it cool completely.
  2. Heat a Cicla frying pan or Cicla wok over high heat with a bit of oil. Briefly sauté the garlic and ginger. Add the carrot and zucchini and stir-fry for 3–4 minutes. 
  3. Add the rice and cook over high heat. Break up the grains and let them lightly crisp.
  4. Add the soy sauce, fish sauce and sesame oil. Mix well and taste.
  5. Stir in the bean sprouts and spring onions. Finish with fresh cilantro and a squeeze of lime juice.
  6. Fry the eggs until the edges are crispy and place them on top of the rice.

  • 300 g jasmine rice
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 carrot, cut into thin strips
  • 1 zucchini, sliced into half-moons
  • 2 spring onions, finely sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 piece of ginger (±2 cm), grated
  • 1 handful bean sprouts
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 lime (juice + wedges)
  • Neutral oil (e.g. peanut oil)
  • Salt & pepper
  • Fresh cilantro
