Preparation – step by step recipe

  1. Mix the flour, egg, milk, sugar and salt into a smooth, pourable batter.
  2. Let the batter rest for 5–10 minutes (this improves the texture).
  3. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or oil.
  4. Pour a ladle of batter into the pan and swirl to coat the base thinly.
  5. Cook for 1–2 minutes until the top looks set and the bottom is golden. Flip and cook briefly on the other side.
  6. Repeat with the remaining batter.

Serve warm with yogurt, a drizzle of honey and fresh red berries.
